From ThyroWorld, Volume 1 No 2
The Thyroid Foundation of Japan is proud of the participation of Dr. Kazuo Hashimoto, professor emeritus of the Kanazawa University School of Medicine, as an honorary member of TFJ. Dr. Kazuo Hashimoto's father is the renowned Dr. Hakaru Hashimoto who researched and described the autoimmune thyroid disease named after him. Dr. Kazuo Hashimoto was not involved in thyroid disease research but in research hygiene. Following his academic retirement, Dr.Kazuo Hashimoto now lives with his wife in Nara, one of the oldest cities in Japan.
Dr. Hashimoto provided us with 1907-year book of University Kyushu School of Medicine in which photographs of his father appear. Although the photographs have been well preserved, TFJ is now in the process of filing them into digital media, making them both better preserved and more readily available.
